Once a horse comes to Dogwood Farm Sanctuary, we consider them permanent residents. Generally, we do not adopt out horses. We assume that Dogwood Farm is their final home. They do not have to make another adjustment in their lives or continue to be bounced around the world of boarding barns and new pasture mates.
In our current facility, we can comfortably house between five and seven horses. Because we have a relatively small herd, each individual has a role in the herd. While we have had more horses, our current residents and their many special needs means that we are limited to providing the best care to our current population. If you are interested in adopting a horse, we often link horses needing homes with those who wanting to provide a home. Send us an email and describe your situation. You must have a horse facility to be considered for adoption.
