Lydia had languished at the humane society for more than a year at age 9. She was part of a hoarder bust and had skin issues from being outside in the sun most of her life. Still, she was sweet but no one was interested in her. She was being treated for skin infections but she was depressed and wasn’t responding well to treatment. She needed to bond with a person and we brought her to the sanctuary, where she bonded to Ben. “Lids” is thriving and has not had reoccurring skin issues. She always has access to shade but on warm fall days, she’ll be sprawled in the sun. Lydia will be 12 in April. She is an American bulldog. (Lydia died in her 12th year.)
